Gordon and Kate Monaghan would like to welcome you to our home, Rock Valley Farm in Dartmoor National Park in rural Devon. We feel blessed to live in such a beautiful spot, it really is untouched and unspoilt, something to be treasured in the 21st century, and we love to share it with others.

We are the keepers of 36 acres of hill farm; pasture, woodland, streams and dry stone walls, a nature lovers paradise...even in the winter when the trees are bare they still look beautiful and full of colour and life, with lichens and mosses there is always a tapestry of colour and life running through the farm. The streams travel through the land like veins, nourishing the trees and the earth, creating life wherever they flow, under the rocks and through the woodland.

If you just take time to stop and listen (which you would if you were staying in a gypsy caravan) its quite amazing how many different birds sing so many beautiful harmonic songs, a musician friend recently commented on the wonder of their orchestra. It’s better than a wildlife park; Buzzards wheal and swoop, coasting in the slipstream above us, woodpeckers peck, and the wood ants work in the woods. Dragonfly’s and butterfly’s parade their iridescence, and at night the badgers, foxes and bats come out to explore their night time world.
