Animals 

We have some very characterful animals here on the farm, At the last count, 9 horses, and 29 alpacas; we have been really busy with cria (alpaca babies) this year, with 5 already born and 4 more anytime soon; they are really humorous to watch, romping around together in the evenings (its called ‘pronking!’) they literally bounce around, curving their necks and bending their bodies in the air, and jumping on each other!   The alpacas are beautiful, gentle creatures and real characters too, its lovely too have animals that you would feel totally safe taking a young baby in the field with them, all they would do is come over to be nosy, and possibly have a sniff, but no more. They are very peaceful, but they don’t like dogs, they tolerate ours because they know them, but they see other dogs as predators and they will chase them and try to kick them.

Another of our new editions to the farm is our first foal; Tinkerbell, who was born at the beginning of May, what a character she is, and friendly too, although mum is very protective so she’s not too keen about sharing her! We also have various birds and geese and 3 dogs (and not forgetting of course the farm cat).
